Our Social Initiatives
In 2019, 4.5 billion passengers were carried by the world's airlines. This number is expected to rise exponentially in the coming years as air services become more accessible. The global aviation industry produces around 2% of all human-induced CO2 emissions. Around 80% of aviation CO2 emissions are emitted from flights of over 1500 Kilometers, for which there is no practical alternative mode of transport.
To meet the growing demand of the aviation industry, an increase in levels of CO2 emission is inevitable. It is imperative that we adopt an environmentally-friendly approach to tackle climate change at all possible fronts.
We at Karwaan are committed to making your flying experience climate-friendly. We have introduced various social initiatives that contribute to carbon offsetting.
We strongly believe in sustainability and are driven to support the United Nations Sustainable development Goal 13 which is Climate Action.
Before Karwaan-
Before coming together as Karwaan, each one of us has contributed in our own way to make this planet a better place to live in. Our journey as individuals has always included conscious decision making, where each one of us has been a part of a massive plantation drive in which we planted 10 lakh trees. We realise the importance of a greener workplace that leads to a more holistic and productive work culture. Here is a glimpse into a journey of our team Before Karwaan -
What we do at Karwaan?
Karwaan’s unique service offers an opportunity to contribute to environmental sustainability through our unique social programs. We believe our customers are our most important stakeholder and so we believe in providing a holistic experience to them. With rising Co2 emission levels and honouring the Paris Agreement, 2015, we approach our clients to make a more sustainable/conscious choice.
We endeavour to make each flight carbon negative through our reforestation project and campaign that aims to negate the carbon footprint by measuring the emission produced during total flying hours of a particular trip booked with us. With each journey, we are contributing to a sustainable future.
